Overview

CND-2001 Double Motor Control Unit is an industrial automation control board designed for dual DC motor drives used in pergola and awning systems. It operates within a 12–24V DC input voltage range and supports up to 10A motor current per channel. With its built-in dual Hall-Encoder input, it independently tracks the position of both motors. It features three different operating modes: Synchronous, Single (independent), and Free (manual). Real-time position and status information is displayed on the built-in OLED screen. Integration with smart home systems is provided through dry contact and shutter inputs.

Features

Dual Motor Synchronization

In SYNC mode, both motors run simultaneously in the same direction at the same speed. When a position difference occurs, the leading motor is automatically slowed down to maintain alignment.

OLED Status Display

Real-time position, operating mode, limit status, and error information for both motors are displayed on the built-in OLED screen.

Dual Hall-Encoder Input

Independent quadrature encoder support for each motor. Position memory is preserved after power interruption.

Automatic Stall Recovery

When a motor stalls in SYNC mode, the system stops and attempts automatic recovery. If recovery fails, motors are aligned to a safe state.

Smart Home Integration

Direct integration with KNX, smart home panels, and automation systems through shutter and dry contact inputs.

Wireless Control

Dual motor control via mobile app or remote control through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Buttons & Indicators

SW3 — Down Limit

Short press: Saves the lower limit position. Long press: Deletes the saved lower limit.

SW4 — Up Limit

Short press: Saves the upper limit position. Long press: Deletes the saved upper limit.

OLED Display

Motor 1 and Motor 2 position values, active operating mode, limit states, and error codes are displayed in real-time.

Installation & Commissioning Guide

Up Limit (SW4)

Short press:Saves the upper limit position.
Long press:Cancels / deletes the saved upper limit.

Down Limit (SW3)

Short press:Saves the lower limit position.
Long press:Cancels / deletes the saved lower limit.

SW3 + SW4 Together

Changes the operating mode. Cycles sequentially between Free → Single → Synchronous modes.

Connection Check (Free Mode)

After completing all cable connections as specified in the datasheet, switch to Free Mode to verify connections.

  1. 1.Press SW3 + SW4 buttons together to enter Free Mode. "FREE" should appear on the OLED screen.
  2. 2.Use the remote control to move the motors.
  3. 3.Observe that the encoder position values for both motors change on the OLED screen.
  4. 4.If values change, connections are correct. If not or abnormal readings occur, check connections.
  5. 5.If the problem persists, contact our technical team.

Tip: Free Mode is for testing only. Remember to switch to SYNC or Single Mode after installation is complete.

2

Lower Limit Definition

After connection check, move the motors to the lower limit point and switch to Synchronous (SYNC) Mode.

  1. 1.Press SW3 + SW4 buttons together to enter SYNC Mode. "SYNC" should appear on the OLED screen.
  2. 2.Move the motors to the desired lower limit position.
  3. 3.Press the Down Limit (SW3) button once briefly.
  4. 4.When the limit position value is displayed on the OLED screen, the lower limit has been successfully saved.

Tip: If the limit value does not appear on the OLED screen, make sure you pressed the button firmly.

Erase: To delete the limit, long press the same button. "Lower Limit Cleared" will be displayed on the screen.

3

Upper Limit Definition

After the lower limit is saved, move the motors to the upper limit point.

  1. 1.Move the motors to the desired upper limit position.
  2. 2.Press the Up Limit (SW4) button once briefly.
  3. 3.When the limit position value is displayed on the OLED screen, the upper limit has been successfully saved.

Tip: After saving the upper limit, the system is ready for use.

Erase: To delete the limit, long press the same button. "Upper Limit Cleared" will be displayed on the screen.

Synchronous Mode (SYNC)

Both motors run simultaneously in the same direction at the same speed in a synchronized manner. Recommended mode for equal opening/closing movement in pergola systems.

  • Real-time position comparison and automatic alignment
  • Leading motor automatically slowed down
  • System stops and attempts automatic recovery when stall detected
  • Motors aligned to safe state if recovery fails
  • Soft Start / Soft Stop feature active
  • Automatic stop at limit positions

Single Mode

Both motors run simultaneously but independently. Each motor's limits are controlled separately.

  • Independent limit control (separate upper/lower limits per motor)
  • When one motor reaches limit or stalls, the other motor is also stopped
  • No synchronization control between motors
  • Soft Start / Soft Stop feature active
  • Position tracking via Hall-Encoder active

Free Mode

Manual test and maintenance mode. Both motors run directly without any protection. Should only be used by authorized technicians.

  • Limit control disabled
  • Stall detection disabled
  • Position tracking disabled
  • Motors move freely

When exiting Free Mode, position counters and limit data are reset. Limits must be redefined.

Important Notes

  • The board must be mounted inside an enclosure. Do not expose directly to outdoor conditions.
  • Before connecting motors, ensure the supply voltage and polarity are correct.
  • Encoder cable length should not exceed 3 meters; use shielded cable for longer distances.
  • The + and − terminals on CN4 are doubled for parallel connection. Both + terminals and both − terminals are connected to each other.
  • Dry contact inputs must be potential-free (volt-free).
  • Always perform connection check in Free Mode before commissioning.
  • In SYNC mode, it is recommended that both motors are of the same type and same RPM specifications.
  • Motors should not be operated without setting the limits.
