CYRA Lab · Module 08
Eye to Eye
Steer with your gaze.
CYRA finds your eyes, draws sensor rings around your irises and starts a five-step gaze test: look where it tells you, and CYRA measures your accuracy and reaction time.
- Runs on your device
- ~7 MB on first start
- Model: MediaPipe Face Landmarker · face mesh and iris points
How to try it
Turn on the camera and look at it; the test starts once CYRA finds your eyes.
CYRA says “Look left” and that edge of the screen glows softly. Move your eyes, not your head.
After five hits your time is announced. Then look around freely; CYRA tells you where you look and counts your blinks.
Your camera permission is used only on this page and only when you turn it on.
Your image never leaves your device: no frame is recorded or sent.

CYRA log
- Once you turn on the camera, we start talking here.
Behind the scenes
- The face model returns 478 points and 52 facial-expression values; gaze direction is read from the values that correspond to the eye muscles.
- The image is shown like a mirror: “left” means your left, and it is on the left of the screen too.
- A blink is counted once, when the eyelid closes and opens again; gaze is not read during a blink.
Where it helps
- Control when your hands are busy: a panel where menus are chosen with a look.
- Ergonomics: a helper that reminds people working at a screen for a long time to take a break.
- Accessibility: choosing and typing with the eyes for someone who cannot use their hands.
Example use ideas; we design the right one for your project together.
